If you missed this weekend’s show, here’s a quick debrief on what happened!
There was loads to chat about as JP and Olivia took to the air once again.
JP was very excited to talk about his search for a great local breakfast which found him in Secretts, Milford and Eliza’s Tea Room on Saturday morning. He met a brilliant food writer, Shirlee Posner, who took him for a tour of the complex and shared stories of the company’s history. A podcast of this will appear soon. (Olivia also thought JP looked like he was being a politician for the day in the snaps from his adventure!)
The duo spoke about some of the week’s new stories including the £33m lottery ticket being claimed, a new app which features a wake up alarm requiring its user to complete a challenge in order to switch it off and the news that Tesco are ceasing 24 hour trading in over 70 stores, including the Addlestone branch.
Sport was on the agenda with Jamie Murray winning in the men’s doubles tennis match earlier in the day and we had updates for the Weybridge Vandals and for Woking FC.
Olivia’s Track of the Week was the new single ‘Human Ceremony’ from Sunflower Bean. It got a good reception from the studio and from you guys. As always, you can see more on Olivia’s blog (www.prettyinsyc.wordpress.com).
The Weekend Guide was packed with local gigs, events and two big releases in the film world this week. One of them was ‘Dirty Grandpa’ which was generously given just 1 star out of 5. It’s been a while since we have had that happen!
Crack the Connection was a tricky one this week with JP setting a special four song selection:
1. ‘Run The World’ by Beyoncé
2. ‘Locked Out Of Heaven’ by Bruno Mars
3. ‘Roar’ by Katy Perry
4. ‘Hymn for the Weekend’ by Coldplay & Beyoncé
